This role offers the opportunity to play an integral part in the success of Restore. As a member of the Executive Team and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head of Finance & Administration oversees and leads Restore’s Finance, Administration, HR and Facilities teams which together provide the Support Services functions for Restore’s activities.
Specific responsibilities
Financial and Operational Management
- Preparation and oversight of Restore’s annual budget
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Oversee payroll for the organisation
- Oversee the Finance & Administration team in the maintenance of appropriate record keeping and systems
- Provide line manager support to the Head of HR and Head of Facilities in their work in these areas, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the Executive Team
- Lead Restore’s Finance sub-committee who’s membership comprises of key staff members and selected Trustees
General
- When required, deputise for the CEO and take decisions in conjunction with the executive team
- Work with the Executive Team to ensure that all areas of the organisation meet the requirements of all Health and Safety legislation
- Keep up to date with changes in regulation and legislation directly relating to the governance of Restore, including areas relating to financial reporting and governance for charities and companies limited by guarantee
- Attend relevant meetings, playing a key role in those relating to the areas of finance, HR, training, facilities and executive management
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required

- Experience of successfully leading teams in a medium size organisation (E)
- Experience of direct line management (E)
- Minimum of three years’ experience working in finance (E)
- Experience of computerised financial systems, eg Sage Accounts/Payroll (E)
- Understanding of charities (E)
- Knowledge of the operation of restricted funds (D)
- Knowledge of VAT and Gift Aid (D)
